1 What is your name and where are you from? My name is Joyce Josephson. I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). I currently live 15 miles north of the city. 2 How long have you been active on DA? I’ve had an account on DA for twelve years. I posted the first few years, but did not interact with other artists much. I took a couple of years off, then started up again in 2017. Since then, I’ve found some kindred spirits among the many photography artists on DA. 3 How did you start photography? When I was 20 years old I attended art school and later, college, beginning in the fall of 1974, to study graphic design. One of my required courses was in black and white photography. My first camera was a 35 mm Canon Ftb. The school had a photo lab where I could develop film and prints. Watching those prints develop, I was hooked. 4 What does DA bring to your photographic work? This kaleidoscope series was doomed to failure in advance. For most, it is too strange or incomprehensible. However, I got great pleasure from this "game." This work began with the first composition and captured me with its unusualness for myself. This is an attempt to portray, by combining some of my photographs, a certain sense of something in common or different. The audience will judge the success of this project. I agree that is strange. If you have any opinions about this, I will be glad to hear in your comments to this journal or separately to each work. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Here is a little preview of the process of meta-kaleidoscopization :D I'm gonna start by an image I've took in Toulouse , France, in B&W : Then a Kaleidoscopic effect with a factor of 4, will show : If I then input that image to another Kaleidoscopic effect of, let's say, factor 3 : It kinda starts to look like an Alien face ha ! Another one: Then if we repeat the process again and again, we can come up with image like these: I thought inverting all of them could go well too :
